Welcome to Chester Games Club!
We have a weekly gaming club in Chester, England. It takes place every Monday night, approx. 18:30-23:00, at the Chester Hangman, City Road, Chester CH1 3AE (map here). The club is 5 minutes' walk down the road facing Chester railway station. There is free on-street parking available after 18:00 along City Road, and also in the small car park outside the pub. The games take place in a large room on the first floor of the pub (go up the stairs to the right of the bar) which has plenty of chairs and tables. New members can come along free for the first week; after that there is a £1 weekly charge. There is a bar serving drinks and snacks, but other food and drink is not allowed inside (apart from the occasional bag of sweets). Attendance ranges between 15 and 35 people, averaging around 20.
We play the following types of games:
- RPGs, including:
- Board games, including:
- German-style games (e.g. Settlers of Catan, Puerto Rico)
- Longer games (e.g. Arkham Horror, Descent)
- Card games, including:
- CCGs (e.g. Magic: the Gathering)
- Non-CCGs (e.g. the Sherlock Holmes card game, Werewolves of Millers Hollow)
Whatever type of game you're interested in, there should be something suitable for you to play every week. New gamers are welcome; feel free to post on the forum to let us know you're coming or to ask for more information.
